There are many back injuries every year while shoveling snow. Be safe out there.
Here are some helpful tips on how to prevent a back injury when shoveling your driveway:
1) Push the snow to edges of your driveway before lifting
2) Keep your back straight when pushing and lifting snow
-try not to round your low back
3) Limit twisting your back when lifting and throwing snow into snow piles
4) Lift with your legs
-bend your knees before lifting then straighten them as you lift
5) Take breaks as needed
6) Shovels with “ergonomic handles” help to promote a better back posture
