Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Dry Needling (sometimes called Trigger Point Dry Needling) involves placing a small needle into the muscle at a trigger point, which is typically an area where the muscle is tight and tender. The intent of Dry Needling is to help release muscle tone, improving the mobility and function of the muscle and decreasing symptoms of pain or stiffness. Electrical Stimulation can also be connected to the needles to help facilitate the effects of Dry Needling. Dry Needling is one of many treatment techniques that Physiotherapists use to help treat chronic muscular conditions.  It can be a valuable addition to standard physiotherapy for musculoskeletal pain.
